The Marsh Harrier is not cheap, but you pay for what you get in this case. It's a busy, friendly local pub with a lovely sun trap beer garden at a the back and is the only place worth a visit for a mile or so in any direction. The current couple have really made an effort to serve the local area with good food and beer and deservedly have a loyal clientele. Getting there by bike used to be a pain until the council installed some Sheffield hoops across the road. Beer is from Fullers and always in good condition with four from the range at any one time. This always includes Pride and ESB with the rather bland Discovery usually available as well. Replacing this with cask Chiswick as a session ale would be very welcome as the beer selection is often all above 4.0% ABV. On a recent visit for Sunday lunch I ate so much food that I had to lie on the grass for an hour afterwards. Highly recommended, but do remember to mind you language!

Great pub that filled the gap nicely when the Exeter Arms down the road ran out of beer one night. Nice local feel with real ales.

Homely and welcoming Fuller's house just off Cowley Road, which these days is sorely lacking in decent pubs. This is surely the best pub in it's area - four Fuller's beers, dartboard, good community feel and friendly service. Worthy of a GBG entry in my opinion.

A very god pub overall with a courteous and knowledgeable landlord. Definitely the best one in the area. Fullers Ales always in good condition. Apparently the food is very nice. Nice beer garden. Darts, nice wooden décor, with a homely feel.
Clientèle all very nice and the staff are very good. Good prices. If you are really good at music quizzes, then have a crack at the one here that is on the first monday of every month. You will have to be REALLY good to stand a chance though.
There is a cat who likes attention too. A truly great pub needs a pub cat, I think we can all agree.
My one very very very minor gripe was with a member of staff (I wont say who but those who go there will guess) taking off with a punter for them swearing. Not even a particularly bad word, but there were kids around. It is a pub, not a restaurant. You can't have it both ways love. That sort of bloke is who keeps your business in the black the 99% of time when folk are not eating. I wouldn't bring a kid in a pub either, but if I did I would expect a lot worse than what that poor sod said.
