Good new (of sorts!) - the bar opens at weekends for live music It would appear to feature "new or up-and-coming" groups. Only bottled beers on sale but I understand that these come from local brewers so that is something. It would be great to see this bar re-open full-time as it used to offer 4 real ales and the beer scene in Reading is much-improved these days, so it would be a welcome addition.

It would appear the this bar is now closed. It was run by the town council and we have no idea what will happen to it now.

Like nearby Chronicles and also The Bugle, 3Bs was shut on my visit Saturday afternoon.

Has some real ales, condition variable. It is as it describes itself, a cafe/bar rather than a pub. Strange mix of clientele includes students, arty types, ordinary pub-goers (e.g. me!) and the occasional drunk off the streets. Big problem is it's hardly ever open.

I went there in search of live music and beer to find an agreeable enough place, with competent enough security and decent enough beer. It was not too easy to find but the doorman kind of gave it's location away.
