| This hostelry sports the glowing adornment of being the regular meeting place of the EDL Berkshire Division. Not being a Muslim this isn't a problem for me personally. Waitrose_Ernie - 10 Apr 2012 12:33 |
| Is it true that the staff here take part in the Monk's quiz and have won on several occasions? Seems rather dubious if you ask me! Fix much? Lord_Jason - 1 Feb 2012 21:32 |
| The HOPE Tap? Abandon hope all yea who enter here more ****king like it! Where is the hope in a bunch of unemployed giro rustlers and bar staff on six pound an hour? Edgar A. Poe wouldn't even put that cobblers into a tome! The best thing that can be said about this place is one day someone will put a fist in the face of the mouthy drunken giro-scroungers/drug addict types who frequent it and abuse the staff. | This establishment is the nearest (still open) pub to the job centre. This has resulted in the bone idle giro hordes and other assorted ne'er do wells treating the place as their own personal drop in/out centre. Unlike the other 'spoons it is quite multi-cultural unfortunately we aren't talking imported brain surgeons or even call centre types. But rather the kind of people you'd see lurking in a dark alley in Calcutta or camel jacking along the Gaza strip. The last two times I've been in I have witnessed your gassed up ADHD type verbally abusing staff members although granted for the ADHD types this is probably the nadir of their week. It is always refreshing to see youngsters aspiring to be all they can be in modern society. Lord_Jason - 18 Jan 2012 21:54 |
| The beer has improved and is generally good with 6 guest ales often on tap and local breweries featuring on a regular basis. mcroyal - 21 Dec 2011 12:36 |
