Go to the Greyhound ! Don't be put off by its location. I've lived up the road for four years and just hadn't got round to going in until recently and so glad I did. It's got a lovely homely relaxed feel and Kuba the landlord has doen a really good job of creating a laidback atmosphere. A perfect place to chill out - no tellies - just cheap drinks , nice chairs and nice people.

Just went along bychance earlier tonight. Hadn't been in there for months because it was such a dive before. However, its been completely revamped. Very nicely done. The old bar which dominated the centre of the pub has been scrapped and replaced by a smaller bar in the corner. The bright lights and Sky Sports have been replaced by more subtle lighting and no TV's (makes a refreshing change). There was a good selection of drinks, about 5 different beers IIRC as well as a proper ale on tap.

The beer garden had recently reopened and was quite pleasant; certainly a lot better than I remember the old incarnation which had no lighting.

The pub had apparently just started selling food. Can't vouch for it but the menu certainly seemed quite good.

Anyway, all in all, a much better pub following the revamp; will definitely be back

I would imagine that since the last review this pub has had a complete change of ownership, decoration and image. The new guy in charge (currently also the only member of staff) has made a real effort to move the place 'upmarket', unfortunately this does seemed to have scared away some of the previous locals and most evenings are very quiet... Don't let this put you off. The place is really comfortable, service is fabulous, and it has just started serving real ale which is a rarity in the local area. The kitchen and garden are still being renovated but I have very high hopes that my rating will increase over the next few months. Oh yes, plus the 100 yards I have to crawl home at the end of the evening may help as well.
