As a student at Notts Uni who loves his ale, this pub has been a gem of a find. We are all now regulars there. Don't get the wrong impression, it's not a students pub. There's a fine mix of regulars and students and both are treated with the now famous Johnny Arms hospitality. Food's great, the snacks are top notch, and they really know how to keep their ales. Regular beer festivals, quiz nights, poker nights mean that there's never a dull moment. What a beer garden! A true gem. Great pub. 10/10

This place is an absolute Gem. I work at Notts Uni and get there whenever I can. Gillys food is great, I love the fact he refuses to do chips. His barbeques are amazing. The staff are amazingly friendly, and always welcoming, you can really tell they take pride in the place. The beers good too, and the beers festivals are well worth looking out for. Its a shame not so many pubs have the welcoming friendly charm of the Johno's. Before you ask I was not paid to write this!

I must agree with the other comments on this site - a very friendly pub. The staff go out of their way to get to know you and your drink. They are friendly and witty (occasionally) too. Free jukebox, good cheap food, real ales and the best beer garden for miles around make this a real find. Wish it didn't get too busy on a friday after work though ....
