Normally closed when I visit Salisbury, on the rare occassions it is open it is devoid of punters, looking rather dank and uninviting.

How does the place stay afloat? seems rather a shame given its location near the station, though I suppose few rail travellers are interested in an after journey pint these days?

Agree with wolvesfan and Hodge1, been past this place 3 or 4 times each at a different time and day of the week and everytime it's closed.

Used to serve a great pint of Gibbs Mew Bishops Tipple in the late 80's, I agree with teh comments regarding opening hours, it never seems to open!

This pub has the grumpiest landlord and landlady EVER!!! If you can find it to be open when you pass, and that's a BIG if, see for yourself. The beer is pretty average, move on to Deacon's or the Haunch.

I agree with F_B_B, that it's handy for the station and that's it's best feature. Only one ale on when I went in - Ringwood Best, served luke-warm and lifeless. Service was friendly enough though, so I wouldn't rule it out as a quick stop-off when getting off the train, but I wouldn't want to spend a whole night here.
