The beer is kept well here. Sunday lunch is very cheap. But the beer is expensive. the_islander - 29 Jan 2012 14:34
What a difference a year makes. The ale choice was boring and predictable. Nothing from the breweries on the island one of which is in Ryde. Very disappointed. Had Taylors Landlord which rarely tastes any good away from Keighley Steamer1 - 3 Aug 2011 14:21
Good pub with a decent selection of real ale and lager which were well kept. Pub advertised a saturday night curry club for £5 a head but it had been cancelled on our visit. Large beer garden which ctaches the evening sun. beershot - 5 Jul 2011 17:34
If you've walked to The Simeon then you may as well try this one as well. Another boozer with a selection of ales (I would agree that it could have been more exciting but there we go). Likewise - if you've walked to hre you must as well try The Simeon !!! They both benefit from being locals pubs away from the main tourist ones. mcroyal - 13 Jun 2011 19:51
This was the second time I'd visited the Solent Inn, the first way back in 2006. Back then we had plenty of time on our hands and worked our way through a good range of ale. This time, however, I was slightly disappointed with the range - Abbot, Banks and London Pride. I had a Banks which was nice enough. The interior has a homely lived in look - at least the half of the pub we sat in. It is deserving of more than a quick pop in and one drink - hopefully I'll get a chance to spend longer here in the future. Black board up behind the bar with upcoming ales. Good venue for music too judging by the list of bands coming up. This is a pub focused on pub things - bands, darts and booze. Good to see. Jonnysaint - 23 Jan 2011 13:34
