Has an attractive Charringtons tiled exterior and I rather expected less than I got inside. It has clearly had some money spent on it recently and they’ve spent wisely and created a nice bar. Two hand pumps one of which was serving Black Sheep Bitter. A bit expensive but I’m sure it gets plenty of custom. Millay - 11 May 2008 19:53
We held a 30th for two friends here, and it was a great night! Thanks to the Nelson Arms for organising everything so well! The food was brilliant and good value for money. skuggs - 17 Feb 2008 19:41

Spent a pleasant Friday evening in here. Prices a little steep but at least that seems to keep the riff raff out. Decent enough landlord and staff, couple of good bands, no pond life, no trouble, beer choice could be better but I guess it's mainly aimed at lager drinkers and the keg bitter was drinkable enough (also they have light ale so light and bitters were on the cards until the cost became prohibitive). cfcmark - 31 Jul 2007 13:55
Good pub, nice atmosphere but The Tup rules hands down. Leagues above anything else in the area, though i do frequent The Nelson for a change now and then. Never seen an argument at The Tup let alone a fight, stay away from Blue, GJ's and kiss me hardy, unless you want to scrap of course. anonymous - 28 May 2007 22:51
