A strange pub. Revamped from an old wino's bar where nobody went there unless they were on their last legs, to a poncey wine bar that is amazingly ok. Staff weren't too bad the few times I've been in there. Beer was ok. Trying to be a "cool" bar rather than a pub. anonymous - 3 Oct 2006 16:14
This pub is really different from others in the town. The people are really friendly and chat when you walk in.Its under new ownership,(the landlord is bonkers)You can play pool,Darts and there is a brill jukebox with over 1000 songs on it.The beer is really well kept.I`d go so far to say it`s the best pint in town! joanna game - 12 Jul 2006 15:08
Stratford is a fantastic place for Beer drinkers. The Pen And Parchment, The White Swan, The Cask and Bottle. All great pubs. But The Oddfellow's really is the jewel in the crown. Just opposite witherspoons, it coudn't be more different. Quiet, sparsly decorated with uncarpeted floors. The first time I walked in here with two friends as scruffy students in '98, it really was a tumbleweed moment. The old boys at the bar glancing up at us before they went back to there beers. But within 40 minutes we were laughing and chatting to the regular's, who turned out to be the freindliest blokes you could ever wish to meet. About 4 hours later, after a few sound thrashings at darts and 6 pints of flower's we stumbled back to lectures with a warm glow and plenty of beer in our bellies. I haven't been back to Stratford for 2 years, but I know where I will be heading when I do get back there. This really is a delightful and criminally overlooked Stratford pub. If you are around, go in. Christopher Davies - 26 Nov 2003 12:34
