Simple pub on a simple corner of a simple street. Doesn't try and do anything else but provide good ale - no other distractions. Millay is right, the Trade Wind in particular was bang on. Great crawl joiner from Haymarket to Grassmarket and beyond

I had to call in to one of my favourite Edinburgh bars on my recent visit and the Blue Blazer is still deserving of it’s GBG listing. An array of different beers were on offer and the Trade Winds was top notch.

Late comment from August. Enjoyed a couple of Kelburn beers here.

Great traditional place with a fine selection of ales and interesting layout. Comfortable atmosphere too. Only problem when I went was that the toilets were a bit smelly but I'll see that as a one-off. Looking forward to returning

A great pub, cosy, unpretentious, superb beer. Sandwiches and pies, so great at lunchtimes. Landlord is a bit dour, bu tyou can put up with that for such good ale (a pint of Freoch Heather Ale never goes amiss).

ANther one of those I always try to visit when in Auld Reekie.
