Not the best Charles Wells pub, but one of the few places to get a decent pint on the north-west side of Bedford town centre.

A very smokey pub, could see the mist from the outside, not a place to go if you don't wanna ruin your lungs.

Served well kept Green King in a cool old pub. Excellent.

i am pleased quite a "U" turn since my last visit, full menu available, a sunday lunch for £10 ???? must be pretty awesome - must try some time, and a rotating weekly guest ale - which happenned to be Hydes from Manchester, quite a find, pleasant suprise, topped with efficient friendly service - i'll be back !

I regularly visit the Ship ad have experienced the service problems mentioned in the last comment. These seem to coincide with the landlords being away, nuff said!

Allways found the beer to be good quality. The Fri night karaoke (if that is your bag) is one of the best in the area.

Happy hour (5-7, mon-fri) is worth a visit. Most draughts £2 a pint and some good company.
