| First visit to Rochdale since 1997. I was looking forward to revisiting the Mucky Duck, with its great beer and jukebox. | Called in here on Friday night, boy is it an experience! I�m not saying it�s a good experience, but it�s certainly different. It�s a long thin room with the bar on the right as you enter, there�s no real stuff of course, but it is very cheap. There was a DJ/Karaoke guy towards the rear and a small area that acts as a stage/dancefloor. There�s also a quiz machine. Most of the punters are in the late middle aged bracket and most seem to have some sort of problem. These range from the guy who shouts out stupid answers when you�re playing the quiz machine and then says �I was going to go for that one� when you ignore him and choose the correct answer, to the woman who �dances� to every song despite having no inkling what rhythm or co-ordination is. | i walked into this pub as a stranger and left feeling like a local,ann the landlady big personality and very friendly,the locals gave me a huge northerh welcome ! sinead the barmaid is a real funny lass giving as good as she gets and thresa very nice, this pub warrents 10 out of 10, if u only have 1 drink in rochdale have it in the mucky duck pat - 13 Nov 2003 14:29 |
