| This pub used to be a decent place for food and a pint when it was first refurbished. The management are now unhelpful, rude and couldn't really give a stuff about customers - more fool them. The service was very slow - there were 'animals' in the food they served us. Not nice! Begrudgingly from them, we got some money off the bill. Personally, I would rather have had a decent plate of food - served with a smile in the first place. It would be nice if they occasionally cleaned the toilets. The competiton in town is fierce as ever - I would suggest you go elsewhere to spend your hard earned cash ...or take your own food and beer in! PintsizedFred - 20 Feb 2009 17:19 |
| There was a time when the slug and lettuce was one of the best bars in Cheltenham. In fact, it wasnt so long ago. Up until 6 months ago , the slug was at its best. You would be approached by the same friendly, helpful good-looking staff offering good banter, making the slug feel different to everywhere else in Cheltenham. The bar has never been particularly clean, the toilets are vile, but it was tolerable! These days the some-what less attractive, less help-ful staff who make up the slug and lettuce bar team, barely seem to know what they're doing, which i am guessing this is a reflection of the management. | The slug used to be the best bar in town, but they have just had a EHO inspection and were told they were going to be shut down in two days if they didn't clean it up. Wouldn't advise eating there let alone having a drink its so filthy its a disgrace. The staff are rude and unpleasant and the managers should be ashamed of themselves that's if you can call them managers. A big fat 0 the worst pub in cheltenham. slug2 - 24 Sep 2008 19:28 |
