We left this one until last on our brief spin round the real ale pubs of Salisbury and it was a great place to finish before catching the train. This pub has a welcoming atmosphere but is larger than you think when you find the back room. The old table football machine kept us amused for ages.

I forget which beers were available now but they were very nice and I'd love to come back here to taste them again some time.

Summer Lightning, GFB, and well-kept Doombar, the latter at just £2pint. Rustic, slightly draughty front bar area with small open fire, narrow corridor past loos to larger rear room with two small chesterfield style sofas, tables & banquette seating, tv, plasma, & nice old bar-football table, covered smoking area outdoors beyond this. Friendly & chatty welcome from bar & locals. Good luck with your horse next time!

Great boozer. If you are visiting Salisbury, make sure you visit this pub.

Beer is always good. Pub is fairly basic but that is no bad thing in my opinion. Pub is quite narrow but it stretches back to a quieter drinking area at the rear.

Made the mistake earlier of going into the Kings Head (Wetherspoons) and then made my way up here to regain some sanity. Good ale as usual - and in lined glasses.

Much better than it looks outside. The back bar is quiet even when the front is crowded. Nice selection of ales. Best pub by the station since the Bird in Hand closed.
