The Leather Bottle is a Youngs pub, but is a complete contrast from the Prince of Wales up the road. It is a fine old building, but has been spoilt by makeovers. There are at least 3 rooms and outdoor drinking areas at the front and rear. One of the front rooms is currently undergoing refurbishment. The clientle is mainly middle class families and couples. Food was clearly a priority for most. Beers were Butcombe Bitter, Youngs Bitter & Youngs Special. Addlestones cider is also available.

Extremely disappointed by the food.
My partner and I have been going to the Leather Bottle regularly over the past 2 years and have always really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the incredible beer garden. However, on our last visit the experience was completely different as we found the food to be completely inedible. When we complained, the manager explained that they have very recently changed suppliers and unfortunately the quality of the ingredients has suffered as a result. They have replaced high quality items with substandard substitutes and the chef should be ashamed of himself for allowing this food to be served to his customers.

Youngs beers, massive beer garden, overpriced food........ good on a summers night, not sure I'd want to go there every week. Friendly bar staff.

Visit 11th December 2009.

Expensive pub, but on it's way to becoming totally brilliant.

Check your ladies loo's more often Phil !

Too much choice on that menu, and dishes could be better, ie cook the veg more. Less choice, better nosh Phil...and don't chuck us out at 11pm. Drop the poncy service charge, it belongs in the 70's.

Otherwise a good night all round.
