As other reviewers have suggested, this is an interesting place: a sizeable bar / pub in an old warehouse, with a theatre in the same building. On the Saturday night I visited it was virtually empty, although I was told this was atypical as the theatre was closed. The location is in the middle of nowhere, in an industrial / council estate road between York Way and Caledonian Road. No real ale when I visited, although one pump suggested they serve Old Peculier (bizarrely - not sure what the market for it would be). The food was basic pub grub, but very tastily done. I'd return.

If the neighbourhood is nowhere near as bad as some reviewers seem to think, why does this kind of thing happen in it?

He was 16 though, so why was he in a club anyway if it was well managed?

Police said Ben had been at a party at the Shillibeers pub, in North Road, when the row broke out with several youths.

Det Supt Vic Rae said the row probably began after a group of youths were evicted from the club, but "how Ben got sucked into the disturbance is unclear".

The fight then spilled on to York Way where Ben was stabbed.

An interesting place (and the neighbourhood is nowhere near as bad as some reviewers seem to think), though a bit in the middle of nowhere. Next to the Pleasance Theatre, so useful in that respect, but the enormous size and seeming total lack of customers mean it surely can't be much longer for this world...

Have enjoyed New Years Eves here over the years but this year it was a complete disaster. At around midnight a huge fight broke out with lots of bystanders getting caught up, scores of police cars turned up and ambulances as there were significant injuries.

Ruined everybodies NYE and I won't be coming back here again. I blame the new management for attracting the wrong crowd and its such a shame - this was a lovely out of the way place.

Hmm, nice inside, staff can be a bit 'useless', its sort of in the middle of nowhere on the edge of a council estate, food is as expected - pub style. If you don't mind being disturbed by the police sirens and intimidated by the unruly kids joyriding mopeds, you'll have a good night. Been here twice and seriously doubt they'll ever be a third.
