I came here with an empty stomach and left with a full belly and scintillating taste buds. Not only was the tuna mayonaise jacket potato i had wonderfully delicate and rich but my partners roasted vegetable panini equally exuberant. I can only imagine that the food was prepared by staff that had passed the health and food standards regulation test with aplomb. gweddy - 9 Mar 2010 17:39
I popped in recently in the morning and was met by one girl trying to find a bag of coffee for the espresso machine and the others trying to serve a massive queue of two people; I waited 10 minuets then walked out. This place thinks it’s a trendy hangout but you need trendy people for that; instead they get all manner of low life from the surrounding area. If it’s a nice day it got a nice garden out back, other than that… don’t bother lfries - 8 Dec 2009 13:36

I had the worst night ever at Cave Austin! I have just moved to the area and was interested to see what this place was like. I had read these reviews, and to be honest, didnt like what I read. I decided to see for myself. Well, I didnt realise that my time there would be anything like it was. I have never been treated so badly in all my life. I go out a lot and have been for years. As soon as we arrived, we were searched in the ladies for drugs by a very unprofessional door lady. She didnt even say sorry after she found nothing. I understand its their jobs and they have to do it but I expect to be treated better. Myself and my friend do NOT take drugs so this was very embarrassing. My friend was drunk so maybe she thought we were up to no good. Anyways, after she pulled my friends bag apart she walked off and didnt even say sorry. She then picked on us the whole night. I asked her what time does down stairs opened, and instead she told me we wouldn't be able to go down their. She told me my friend was a liability. So I told her that I would get her to drink water if she feels she was too drunk. So I done this for about 2 hours, doing what she said, being as nice as possible. But, it wasn't enough. I tried to talk to her to let her know that my friend had drunk 4 glassed of water and is ok. She then rudely told me to back off and to not touch her. I didnt touch her I was just trying to get close to her as the music was loud and I had to speak loudly. I wasn't shouting! So this wasn't enough for the very unfriendly door lady. She then decided to say that we had been rude to the bar staff and that we had to leave. This was utter bull. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful! They even told her that we had been nice and friendlly but she was having none of it. So I was then picked up and thrown out. By this time I had given up being nice and told them what I thought. It wasn't nice may I add. I am covered in bruises on my arms and chest, which hurt! I have never been thrown out of a club or pub in my whole life. So, this was very upsetting. The doormen think they are gansters but are really just far middle aged fat men who think thier hard. Sorry, there was one nice door man who even said I am ok and that I havent done anything wrong but as he finished I was picked up and thrown out. I still to this day cant get over how I was treated. I would think twice about going here. Espically if you want to have a laugh and get a little drunk. It seems its not acceptable in this bar! As for the door lady, what comes around goes around! xxxstarxxx - 10 Sep 2009 12:49
Awful. Full of idiots and very pricey, would be better off going into central london to a decent cocktail, it would cost less greenwich_girl - 14 Aug 2009 16:41
