Okay, let's be clear, this place is for the football crowd but remains a local. Sadly it has no ale and unless it's you are a local or meeting up before kick off it really is not worth a visit. Harlap - 8 Jun 2007 11:30
Does anybody have a number for this pub please? If not does anybody know if it's still an away fans pub or not? thanks Stuee6899 - 17 Jan 2007 14:28
Came here last night (2 Jan) for some drinks before watching Charlton's 4 nil defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Mainly full of smug Arsenal fans with their replica shirts on, although this pub is opposite the entrance for away supporters. You could drink outside which is what we did. 2 Magners and a half a pint of Fosters (for the laydee!) came to £7.30, so make what you want from that about the drink prices if anything. The Magners, however, came in 330 ml bottles as opposed to the usual 568 ml ones. Jovial atmosphere outside the pub considering the juxtaposition of Arsenal and Charlton supporters, with the tv screens inside showing the excellent Sky Sports News (which darkened my evening by informing me that Thierry Henry was starting for the Gunners, thereby crushing any notion of Charlton getting at least a point from the game). Shut after kick-off, but a decent enough boozer for a pre match drink when visiting the Emirates. Given Charlton's plight, this could be my last visit here for a while… Searching_for_H_Files - 3 Jan 2007 12:59
Moved in around the corner back in mid-April and from first glance it looked like the biggest chav pub going. Garish colours on the outside, bright lights and hooded youth inside. But after a few visits I like it. The lady who served me the other day when England vs. some south american country was on the telly is very friendly and we utilised the pool table and dartboard over a few Guinnesses. It's by no means classy or trying to be anything it's not, just an honest working-mans pub. Wandering in the lounge bar with a suit on will draw some looks though... owenontour - 16 Jun 2005 14:00
