Fantastic!! House beers superb and excellent value. Food is amazing and again really cheap. Top that with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. aledrinker1 - 5 Jun 2009 17:32
The Globe is great pub that brews its own (excellent) beers on the premises. Each beer has its own character, but the Porter is especially recommended. The pub itself is in the traditional, classic style – like taking a step back in time!! The veggy food is cheap and very good. Located via a five-minute walk from the town centre, but the exercise will be well worth it! A gem. DoctorBarfly - 5 Jan 2009 21:42
A nice traditional pub with excellent real ales brewed on site. Well worth a visit. alexw - 9 Nov 2008 10:37
Excellent brewed on site ales, along with regular guests. Good spicy veggie food at very good prices. ppw - 9 Nov 2008 10:32
| Excellent micro-brewery pub producing a good range of beers from light hoppy beers to dark stouts. Beers available are mainly from the Globe, plus one or two guests usually available, including Thatchers real Cider on handpump. As well as the attraction of the beers the Globe has a small menu of home cooked vegi & vegan meals where you can get a starter and main dish for less than a fiver! Have eaten here many times recently and it's always been great. Upstairs there's a music venue and sometimes there's live acoustic music downstairs. Comfortable friendly pub inside with an outdoor garden area at the back. Beware though! Check opening times if travelling as it doesn't open until teatime in the week and is shut on Tuesdays.
