I enjoy a drind in a real pub not some flashy cheerless hole like the puzzle or red lion yes its rough and ready and the decor might not be up to scratch but the cheerful punters alwalys make you feel welcome you can have your drink and do your own thing if the fight breaks out its usually ignored and never comes to much probably just Dessie Potter bangin tables and grindin his teeth a nuisance I know but part of the fun we need someone to laugh at. sheepwalker - 3 Apr 2008 02:01
The Clare Inn is a small but friendly mad house full of great characters.First impressions might be a bit off putting but once you get used to it you will love it.Its a bit dirty and smelly but the crack is great. You will always be made welcome and the beer is good. sheepwalker - 3 Apr 2008 01:27
The place is filthy & so is the beer. The customers are moody old gobshites. I once saw human faeces up the wall in the gents. I can confirm culprit was definitely drinking Guinness by the looks of it.... catmandu - 17 Sep 2007 16:19
This pub is not closed. That doesn't mean you should go in there though - as stoichkov points out it's full of miserable old gits and a fight taking place is a fairly common occurrence. ianfromacton - 5 Sep 2007 14:13
A proper pub. Welcoming to new and old punters alike. Another community drinking hole closed by yuppies complaining that the noise of people sipping Guinness was ruining their dinner parties. Perhaps they'll regret their incessant honking when the town is over-run by hordes of 18 year old kids looking for a place to urinate, fornicate or fight. ye73812 - 17 Oct 2006 22:23
