| Went in on a Tuesday evening. Friendly bar staff providing samples of the 5 beers on tap. Tried Wadworths- Old Timer & Wadworths - Dray Bells. The place has a good atmosphere and just the right balance between a pub and a restuarant. Beer_Spotter - 29 Jan 2012 19:25 |
| I must also add that we had a wonder buffett after the wedding and it was very reasonably priced and the food was very good. Thank you djclifford - 26 Aug 2011 23:20 |
| I send this message to thank all at the fox and hounds, sunnyside, theale. We recently attended the f&h for a wedding reception and had such a beautiful day that i felt compelled to write something (very unusual for me). The service was great with a smile and they really took care of us. I was the best man so had a lot to organise, they really helped me out with decorations and table arrangements etc. My favourite thing about this place is that it keeps that balance between a pub and a good restaurant. A lovely place to visit. If you are in the area stop in for a pint or two.... djclifford - 26 Aug 2011 23:18 |
| My husband and I visited this pub for our wedding anniversary and found the customer service second to none. The Manager is friendly, with time to spend on his customers. Our meal was delicious, was hot and looked really tempting - couldn't wait to get "stuck in." We also considered it very good value for money. Although neither my husband or I drink, my husband (from his past) found the choice of ales very interesting and tempting. I would not hesitate in visiting this pub again when in the area and would highly recommend it to anyone. I should add that the staff were both friendly, helpful and the service was good. | 4 of us visited this pub for an evening out. As soon as we arrived and before we had settled at a table, the barmaid starting asking us what we wanted to drink. The meals are typical, but overpriced, pub food, everything with chips except the vegetarian options. The food was acceptable, but the vegetarian special, vegetable madras served with rice and garlic bread (!) was inedible. It contained overcooked veg, in a watery bland sauce with no hint of curry flavour. And the garlic bread didn't arrive either. I expected to be offered an alternative or not to be charged, but the waitress was sorry I didn't like it but charged the full price anyway! None of us actually finished the meals which says something. I could not recommend this pub and would not go there again, there are many better pubs in the area. Polly33 - 25 Jun 2011 10:26 |
