The landlord is friendly, the Stella's normally good but I agree with the "grim" comment below.

Typical town Boozer. Good Real Ale, Atmosphere and bands. Handy if you need to kill time because you've just missed your train (ooops).

well.......staff are friendly,customers are great,bands great.........had a charity day on sunday...thanks to all who helped by donating either prizes,money or time!!see you all soon x

"Lively area of town"?! It could only be considered lively because people have to walk thru this depressing area to get to the train station. Rather grim, is how I'd put it. But if you do find yourself in these parts go to Irish pub the Grafton just a few doors down instead.

Had a good evening last night for the Blue Cat Reggae Club. Pub is fine, not fancy, not posh, just a decent mixed crowd in a pretty lively area of town and not scary.
