I reluctantly visited the Millpond again last saturday night (27th June 2009). Wow what an improvement, I used to go there
alot a few years ago however the place went drastically down hill, rubbish food, rubbish pint the only thing
it did have going for it was great music until the saturday night DJ had enough and left (so i heard)
But, was so surprised on Saturday when i went in after hearing that it was under new management, Things are great
again, food menu looked really good, people were eating and what they had looked amazing. There were 2 parties on
(upstairs and downstairs) and the middle bar was also packed.
The music was great again, a really good mix of everything from the 70s to todays number 1, I then found out
that they have brought back the original DJ (Think hes called Alex)
Poker nights, singles nights, ladies nights and great weekends, so so glad that i can once again make the Millpond
one of my favourite places in Staklybridge to Visit, I would recommend to all :o)

Interesting that Mr Bean said such nice things back in 2005 and three years later things obviously went horribly worng. I grabbed a sneaky pint and a bite to eat in Millpond recently and can honestly say that things have changed for the better! New manager, new food menu overall a totally new pub! Unlike in the past the upstairs bar was open, the pint wasnt cloudy and in a dirty glass and the general atmosphere of the pub was much more pleasant. With cocktails and a poker night in place and a singles night planned the top end of bridge is definately worth a visit!

It's now June 2008. What the hell have Lee's done with this place now. The people in charge haven't got a clue. No real ale available, food utterly crap
when served one meal was dropped all over the table, the waiter, who is also chef, barman, manager and weekend bouncer, picked the food up with his fingers and put it back on the plate! virtually every order incorrect, prices charged wrongly, totally ruined. Something is not right here, it's very wrong.
Shame, great opportunity

Cannot say enough good things about this pub! Everything about it is fabulous. The landlord & landlady are brilliant, the staff are so friendly, selection of drinks and prices are great, interior of pub is stunning as is location. Definately worth a visit - you must go!
