user reviews of the Healey, Rochdale

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

New manager Mark has been in place for a month now. It's still a Robinson's pub as it's a tied house, but the pub now has 5 handpumps selling Unicorn on 2 of them alongside 3 ever changing beers from the Robbies portfolio. Last night these were Cumbria Way, Old Stockport and Double Hop, all better kept than under the previous management with the Old Stockport on top form. There is also a much improved choice and quality of wines available. It was pretty busy last night from around 8.30 all the way through until closing. One that's on it's way up, worth a visit again now.

Pub will be taken over by a new leaseholder and manager in early April. The leaseholder is also the owner of the GBG listed and Best Bar None award winning Baum. The manager has worked in several GBG listed pubs in the town. Improvement expected. Watch this space!

Nice looking pub with several distinct rooms. Used to have a tap room but that was ripped out as part of a refurbishment quite some time ago (15 years?). Still retains some character especially the bar. Has a good bunch of friendly regulars. Robinsons tied house with Unicorn and sometimes Mild or a seasonal on tap. Beer quality varies tremendously. Never really good, usually OK, sometimes very bad. It's expensive for the area as well.
