Surprised at the negativity on this one. A regular for my brother and his wife, but my first visit this week. No fault found from this reviewer, tidy place and food all good stuff and service fine. Beer just the Tim Taylor Landlord and Black Sheep, but in good order. Has a farm shop attached which is a bit unusual for any pub. Well worth a visit if in the area, for the unusual location if nothing else.

I have visited the Rams Head on many occasions and have always been pleased with the food. However the standard has really dropped, I visited for lunch recently and was given warmed up food from the previous sunday (this was a tuesday and they are closed mondays) It was disgusting, we mentioned this to the waiter/front of house and he just said the chef said it was fresh !! Never was this veg freshly cooked that day, it was old food warmed up. I wish I had refused to pay but have learned from this and will never go back. I agree with other reviews that the owner/front of house is a very miserable man.

The people who find this dump appealing obviously need to get out more.

Our complaints of waiting over 30 minutes for a starter and sending back inedible food were met with aggression, and a stand up row. Possibly the worst dining experience ever.

Whoever is running this joint, has no customer service training whatsoever. The food was very average and ridiculously expensive. Horrendous.

Dining pub high on the moors which I doubt attracts much drinking trade.
It's contemporary with a rustic feel, with period wallpaper and two pleasant real fires in two of the three rooms. Apart from that it's upmarket and cosy, with piled carpets etc.
Food was good and at 3 courses for 12.99 represents good value. Had no problem with the service whatsoever.
Beer was limited to Landlord and Black Sheep, Landlord very well kept however.
Not a boozer but altogether a good experience.

Having been regaular visitors to the Rams Head for the last year or so, on Good Friday I visited with my partner and his family. The food, as always was great, the service was unfortunately also as usal, shocking. We spent over 100 on 5 meals and yet when we asked to speak to the manager to make a suggestion (that perhaps making people with a sleeping baby stand and order food before anyone can sit down even though there isn't actually enough room in the area provided - "may we sit down and come back?" "Not until you've ordered")the owner actually swore at a member of our party. The fact that the person he swore at was a 65 year old grandmother should give you some indication of why I won't be giving this place another penny of my money. No wonder it only had two tables occupied on a bank holiday. If you're in the local area and looking for nice food and atmosphere, go to the White Hart - you won't be disappointed and you certainly won't be sworn at.
