It will be interesting to see if we as a nation have tired of such places in a year or two from now as this is very reminiscent of the Craft Beer Co's various premises in London but for now, it was sublime indeed. A fabulous selection of drinks - both 'craft' and 'cask', knowledgeable service, a nice stripped down interior, a decent sized room upstairs and a pleasant landing for the summer. A coffee stout, Holy Cow, was bursting with flavour and Hopfest was also terrific. A real rival to the excellent Rising Sun.

Good beer, well priced and well kept. It's good place to drop in after work for a pint and maybe some beer and wine to take home. A vast array of beers and an interesting selection of wines to choose from. It does lack atmosphere and thankfully 'lager-louts', but you are also likely to have to endure other people's children shrieking and running around the small courtyard as you try to enjoy a quiet pint outside, which can be worse. They were actually sitting at the bar last time I visited, so there was no escape. Some parents eh? But apart from that, it's a good idea and worth a visit.

Agree totally with the last comment. Extremely good value at £2.50 a pint and the Red Squirrel ales are excellent.

This is an interesting hybrid between a shop and a pub. From the outside it looks like a shop, but inside there are a wide range of real ales on tap, together with a fantastic range of bottled craft beers. There's also a cosy upstairs lounge and an area of decking offering a variety of drinking areas. The clientele is upmarket and you need have no fear of bumping into a lager lout in this joint. The beer was in superb condition and very competitively priced. Recommended - my only reservation is that I prefer somewhere that's more pub-like.
