| Still the same place as it always was. Changing the name, to avoid its violent drug dealing past, hasn't worked. Still a disgusting rat hole occupied by the low life local tenants, who continue to embrace it. No real beer. Food is micro waved, purchased from Brake Brothers and the resultant pulp is sold as restaurant quality. Oh Dear.. Deserves to fail for ripping people off. Let’s hope its sooner rather than later. | This is my local. The Turks Head has been refurbished and renamed "The Brushwood Inn". Whereas I would have hesitated to enter the Turks Head as a woman on my own (it used to be a very masculine place) I'd have no fears about the Brushwood Inn. It couldn't be more different from the way it was before! It's smart but relaxed, the service is friendly and the food is wonderful. The Guinness is great - my taxi driver told me it was the best he had ever had outside Ireland, and I can believe it (though I haven't been to Ireland). I have applied to have the entry name changed to the current name, and will publish a full review when that happens. caliandris - 19 Nov 2011 13:49 |
| Glad to see that Kim is still at The Turks Head. What a great time that was had over the recent weeks with Turks got Talent, the Karaoke competion that was held at the pub. You struggled to get through the door with the amount of people that were there!! So to all of you that like to run this pub down, take a closer look, maybe even visit the pub, and you will see that it is run well, clean and friendly. grazi - 5 May 2011 07:43 |
