Done a nice job on the refurb. Burgers are fantastic. Eaten here a few times now and always consistently good. Nice atmosphere. Friendly bar staff. Reasonable selection of real ales - never had a duff one. Beer garden has also had some time spent on it and is very pleasant. Will keep on returning. Tobyboy - 11 May 2008 11:07
We had previously visited the Crown as a family for a meal and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. However anyone with families should be aware that you can't just turn up as before in the day and early evening for a meal if you have children with you. We didn't know this and were turned away in quite a frosty manner even though the pub was empty . We were really disapointed by this and won't return .We thought that the issue could have been dealt with more sensibly by letting our family eat today , but telling us that in future we need to book ,which would have been fine by us. A real shame as we did like the pub and visited several times a year but we didn't know about the new rules and were made to feel quite embarrased. JBUXB - 5 May 2008 18:32
Haven't been down here for a while but was pleasantly suprised by the refurbishment. The place looks great and provided a wonderful friendly and polite atmosphere for a glass of wine, well maybe two. Well okay it turned into a bottle or two as we were enjoying ourselves so much and ended up camped there for the evening. I was told the pub has recently made it into CAMRA and offer a guest ale along with the usual Fullers which have always been good there before, so I will be looking forward to a beer evening very soon. tmervyn - 4 Mar 2008 16:30
Superb Tappas, Landlord is the chef and cooks the food so maybe that's why he doesn't get the chance to talk! Rainbowlover - 13 Feb 2008 15:33
Landlord still doesn't speak! OK pub BUT the host needs to be more approachable and friendly. Running a pub is a people's business - wake up guys, be nice & smell the roses. Place would benefit so much if you were "nice" tanya_alc - 22 Jan 2008 00:18
