| I have visited The Crown on several occasions recently and the London Pride and ESB are now the best I have ever had outside of Chiswick. Very well done to the new team and I will visit much more regularly. Cheers, John. JohnnyBGoode - 10 Jan 2011 19:00 |
| I hadn't been to the Crown for a while and was pleasantly surprised to find that when I returned there were new people in charge and things were very different... watching_them_4_you mentioned that The Crown could be turned around with the introduction of a new tennant... I'm pleased to say that a new landlord took over about 3 months ago and has indeed turned the pub around. Children are welcome, the atmosphere is much friendlier and relaxed. The menu has changed to traditional home coked food with generous portions and a reasonable price and not a mention of Tapas in sight! The garden furniture has been renovated and is no longer tatty and falling apart! There are four Fullers ales on offer (Discovery, London Pride, ESB and HSB) which are kept exceptionally well. | "Agree with stevemj. The problem with this place is the surly tenant (old git) and his much younger (forever changing her hair colour) lover or wife. They have ABSOLUTYLY NO people skills, or any finesse. It’s a place that lacks character MAINLY due to their inefficiencies. A new tenant really could turn this place around, doubtless." Agree entirely. Well said. watching_them_4_you - 25 Nov 2009 23:34 |
| The 'policy' must have changed as I've just eaten Sunday lunch there with my children. It was good value and we were made welcome. DiamondLegs - 24 Nov 2009 18:46 |
