user reviews of the Harveys Wine Bar, Folkestone

Not a wine bar at all, instead it's a slightly sad looking pub.

It makes a great pre-gig venue as the background music is always good.

The beer isn't all that great, and when my mate was presented with a cloudy, sour tasting beer the barmaid was not very happy about changing it and insisted that he perservered with it... Not great sevice in my mind!

Definitely not a wine bar, it's a pub and a bit of a dingy one at that, perhaps made to look worse due to the fact that it is underground. Beer quality was indifferent and I wouldn't choose to spend too much time there.

Re camera it's because they have a bit of a name for students and the taking of various herbs and such like, near that part of the bar......

Actually very bad beer, bitter is cloudy and the lager is stale. Poor and unfriendly service. Pub is dark and dirty although food from the hotel above is a strong point.

Proper beer, a good jukebox, two bars (well sort of) and a pool table. There's a security camera in the speaker above the pool table, I don't know what sort of business they think might be going on back there. Mostly a young crowd, a bit studenty.
