Following a recent visit to the Brewhouse & Kitchen in Dorchester, I headed to this branch yesterday before a visit to the Emirates Stadium. Unfortunately, I'm still to be impressed by this chain. 5 of their ales were on - Arc Angel, Spandau B, Watchmaker, Chaplin & Triple AAA. But as with the Dorchester branch, there is no real cider - only fizz. The atmosphere was ok. But I get the feeling this chain struggles for an identity. I'm not sure whether it is supposed to be a restaurant or a pub. It seems to be trying to be both, but doesn't do either very well. Disappointing.

Went in expecting a normal trendy brewpubbut was pleasantly surprised. The Brewhouse Vlad 5% was excellent and a reasonable price for the area.

Had an excellent lunch here before an Arsenal game...bit further to walk to the Emirates but unlike the Brewhouse at Highbury much easier to get served on match day and you get to drink out of real glasses..not the polycarb things that don't do the beer justice

One of the many micros sprouting up in the area I visited this one as it was in the CAMRA good beer guide and wasn't disappointed.

It's large and airy with plenty of seats. Needless to say the beers were tip top though being Islington they were on the expensive side.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. For £99 you could get a tutorial on brewing, a meal and get to take home some beer.

Will definitely be back again!

Very busy at 6pm yesterday with drinkers of all ages trying the 8 handpumps and 16 kegs. Only had time for one, Arc Angel, a mid-brown bitter that went down well but will certainly be back for another try when next in the area. Thank you to the previous poster for bringing this bar to my attention as I was previously unaware of it. For the benefit of future visitors, turn left out of the Angel tube station, left at the lights after about 100 yards into Goswell Road and it is immediately on the left. Happy drinking!
