| I cannot believe the last reviewers comments about this establishment..... rejuvenated!! ...... I am sorry, but, whoever that person is, he/she is misguided. The most disappointing thing about the Talbot and change of Operator is that NOTHING has changed.....like before, if you go into the Public Bar it does not matter if there are 2 or 20 customers in there you still have to ring the bell to get served and if you are expecting to have a conversation with the Landlord or Landlady forget it....you're lucky to get a 'Hello'. Not only that - the beer is between 30p - 40p a pint more expensive than The Cricketers a mile away. The locals are not saying 'its great to have the pub back again' .... they are saying 'when are we going to get a decent Landlord who will make us all welcome and start doing some decent promotions to encourage the local population to use the place more often' dorsetman - 24 Mar 2011 18:54 |
| Hey, I simply could not believe the transformation of this pub/hotel. New landlord/landlady have listened to the customers and rejuvenated the place. Well worth its previous rating now, although needs to be consolidated over time. So many of the locals I met said that it was 'great to have the pub back again'.....refering to the previous mismanagement. Good luck and keep up the hard work....... | I am disappointed and amazed at the outgoing landlord. He has not made a success of the place and procedes to slander the locals to the new incoming tenants. Talk about having a chip on your shoulder! I have been working in Blandford and even stayed in the Talbot. I feel sorry for the locals having to allow this ignoramus bleat on about the failings of the venture rather than admit it is due to his own incompetance!.... I will be glad to return to Chelmsford.
