Noooooo!!!! I did a mini pub crawl down the Chiswick high road to Hammersmith yesterday and decided to go slightly of piste (well a short walk down Goldhawk Road)

I haven't set foot in this pub for a few years but fondly remember it as a beer emporium serving multiple ales on both hand pull and gravity along with some interesting kegs.

Fast forward to 2016 and gone are the quirky pictures and board games and l most heart rendingly, anything that resembles a decent beer.

Now an identikit foodie place with only Pride and Deuchers on tap last night. Hardly inspiring. To be fair the pub probably isn't bad and probably takes more money now but for me this pub in its old guide was simply magical and it is now simply mediocre :-(

The Duchess is back. Reopened about a week ago. New management, new décor, new food (hooray). Emphasis on food but a good selection of real ales & trendy lagers too.
Dropped in early evening on its second day and surprised how many people were there. Long may it last.

Sadly it looks as if the Duchess has served her last pint. Currently 'Closed until further notice'

Great pub, very friendly and helpfull land lord, we are over from the USA, have visited over many trips 80 pubs for good cask ale, this pub was really friendly and pleasant atmosphere. I home brew and Tom, landlord gave me several beer taps
Great place and going back tomorrow

A superb pub offering everything one could wish for in a pub; it is my local, so maybe I'm biased! I have been coming here since November 2011 and now visit at least 2-3 times weekly. Fantastic range of ales and ciders at very reasonable prices with the CAMRA and other discounts (£3.10 below 6% £3.60 above 6%). The choice is ever changing and there are regular beer festivals too. A good choice of lagers and craft beers as well. The staff are polite, knowledgeable and friendly. The decor, lighting, space and atmosphere very convivial, certainly different to sister pub The Bree Louise. I don't eat in pubs much, but when I have eaten here, the food has been excellent. Nice sunny beer garden. Close to tube and bus connections. Highly recommended!
