the specials menu is now 2-for-£9, days & evenings, mon-thur. half a dozen options, including fillet of salmon ! reynard - 25 Jun 2009 12:38
Stopped in here on a Saturday lunchtime. They had three beers on: Tetley, Adnams and Copper Dragon. Copper Dragon was a good drop. Also tried out the reasonably priced food. Staff were welcoming. Pud has several rooms and each seemed to have a seperate identity. Pool and darts and big TV available in one of the bars. Rod_Hariga - 24 Aug 2008 14:48
trooper now regularly has five cask ales on offer. that is tetley, adnams, and tim taylors landlord as regulars, and has upped the guests to two instead of one. yummy! reynard - 17 Jun 2008 18:15
Totally agree with all the above, good beer and staff, good conversation so who needs music? Regularly drink guest ale or landlord which is nice.I also drink stella which is good in here, not so good in another pub very near to the trooper called the leeds arms. Damn fine food too, excellant value. chewer30 - 2 Aug 2007 23:34
there are two pubs in the village, and this is usually the "quieter" one, as it does not go much for music or entertainers [which is what some of us like!]. It is an attractive classic style village pub with old english timber beam rooms, brasses and church-pew benches, and smiling faces behind the bar! It has a military theme, with pictures of historical uniforms, etc. there is a central bar with three rooms. the back room is a public bar with pool table & TV. upstairs function room and beer garden at the back. there are numerous keg beers, three regular cask beers [tetley, adnams and taylors landlord] and a regularly changing guest beer. food is available lunch and early evening on most nights. games and quizzes through the week. damned good. reynard - 7 Jun 2006 13:12
