Visited this pub yesterday, quite a few in but was served right away and the bar staff had a very friendly manner. The two different guest ales i tried were both bang on form, i didnt try the food so cant comment but many were eating and it looked fine. Overall a good pub, beers were in good condition, friendly staff, well worth a visit, very enjoyable.

Not the best pub on the Fylde coast. Wide ranging beer range sourced from the length and breadth of Britain, usually 5 beers on. Not kept the best though, regularly line cleaner can be detected in pints. The twice a year beer festivals are worth a visit. Plenty of pub activites, food is standard pub chain grub. Worth a visit, but better places to be found

This is a real example of making the best from what could be an uninspiring pub.

Ok, its not a C16th Coaching Inn, it a post war monster, but the beer is excellent. Always got a serious range of 6 or more casks, including some from Micro's.

The staff are always very friendly and the food is your standard pub grub.

I like it alot. A guilty pleasure 8/10

Agree with all the previous reviews. The beer festival is the best non-CAMRA in the for miles around and well worth a visit, (or 2 or 3!).

The Shovels is a pub that puts you at ease as soon as you walk in. The staff know how to serve with a smile, and with Helen and Steve in charge, it just gets better and better!
