In the process of refurbishment, going towards slightly up market food place with prices to match. Good selection of ales though from Butcombe, Titanic and Fullers plus a couple more.

Sadly closed for the last couple of months... Not sure about the future for this one.. Fantastic location, but needs a few quid spending on it... The front lounge (with the flat roof) seems so seventies... It needs real innovation and vision (plus huge wads) to turn it into a cosy local...

Don't be put off by the address on this pub; It is Barrow upon Soar, NOT Loughborough. Real ale fans watch out for the beer festivals that are held in the garden bar. 15 real ales during the Sept 28th - Oct 7th 2012 event, including; Sharps Doom Bar, Caledonian Flying Scotsman & 80 shilling, Brains Reverand James, Otter, Jennings Crag Rat, Hook Norton Hooky, Brewsters wicked women, Belvoir Star & Moorland Bitter...

This used to be really popular many years ago when called The Riverside, and I have to say the current owners are trying hard... Decent food, good beers (usually some Belvoir brewery ales) and good riverside events (boats for hire, duck races etc...). Watch out for the beer festivals too...
