| Stopped here on a bit of a cycle crawl of the area, fantastic old fasioned pub situated a little outside the village of Lessingham at a crossroads. Wonderful old fashioned interior, good food and a fine selection of beer. B&B is recommended too, full marks all round. Hodge1 - 5 Jun 2012 14:54 |
| We stayed at the Star for five nights last July, after which I sent in a recommendation to B.I.T.E. Sue, Mick and Matt had not been in place for long then but were already stamping their mark on the place. The range of real ales (constantly changing) of four or five were all excellent, Mick is a very attentive cellarman and exacts a very high standard, and the bar was well stocked with a wide range of wines, spirits and lagers. They were blessed with a very capable Chef (Gary?) who consistently turned out high quality food of a broad range of styles and ten months on I've yet to experience a better breakfast. Sue, always cheerful and helpful, whether in person, over the phone or via email, exacts the same high standards and attention to detail in the bar, restaurant and accommodation areas.
