| This place somehow has a rating of 7 even though no one has made any comments on it yet. Essentially it markets itself as a chic fashionable bar catering for the well heeled of Taunton. It's attached to the Castle Hotel and shares their kitchen. It is all very stylish, stainless steel and chrome, with huge fish tanks set into the walls and (now somewhat dated) star lights in the ceiling. Lots of pretty girls work there, seemingly chosen because of their looks rather than any other talent, although the service is reasonable, no more. The is a poncey foreign type who minces around the place, seemingly in charge. It's horrendously expensive, both food and drink but the quality is not guaranteed. They do sell cask ale from time to time, usually from St Austell, but this is rarely drinkable and at prices approaching £3.50 not worth the risk. They also have music from time to time, Jazz, usually on a Sunday, but this like everything else about the place (its a bar, not a pub) is bland.
