user reviews of the Royal Park, Leeds

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The beer's not great, and the pub itself seems to be a jack of all trades master of none type affair, but it's not a bad bar. Literally does everything a bar could be expected to do, from pool and darts to quiz machines, big screen football, outdoor seating and a wide range of rock and metal bands playing in it's basement, The Royal Park certainly serves it's purpose as a no-nonsense pub that, occasionally dodgy pint aside, does a fair job.

Perfect for watching the football and meeting large groups of friends. The pub is located in a residential area, which is a bonus!

What Richard said. Except take away the pricey comment and exchange it with £1.30/£1.40 for the cheapest pints and it's happy days for the drinker on a budget.

My favourite pub. This place has it all, a myriad of different rooms - cracking live music venue downstairs, two big screens for footy (good atmosphere for the big matches, can get very busy), 8 pool tables, 2 dartboards, reasonable food, good array of gaming machines, a non-smokers room (slightly bizarrely named in honour of Roy Castle) for jenga and such, and a fine quiz with the ever-helpful landlord Gary.

Friend of mine once wanted to watch an Ireland match here when England game was on the big screen, Gary gave him keys to his flat and let him watch it on his own telly in his living room. How many pub landlords would do that?

It also has the most bizarre pub artwork ever seen, a wide selection of black and white vaguely soft porn shots. Very Channel Five.

Only problems are it can be pricey and the service is hit and miss. Also can get a bit studenty, but most twats tend to be put off by its slight dinginess. There's no doubt its boast that it "has everything for everyone" is entirely justified.
