Nice boozer, decent prices and a smoking hot foreign barmaid! Not sure why they have teapots hanging all over the place but Ill let it slide! Is it me or does the boy behind the jump, PJ remind you of and irish Curly Watts?! whoagigi - 4 Oct 2008 14:32
The best tasted off.To frightened to complain because of the local element. This is certainly the deep South of Hampton and I was in no mood for a lynching.Retreated from the hostile stares to the beer garden.A dirty tent and a bench on the main road clutching my stale pint.Enough said! james2 - 4 Oct 2008 08:18
The star is above all else a locals pub. I felt quite out of place with people gorking at me. Im sure that after a few visits you would become accepted. boozerman - 29 May 2007 17:06
Yep...got those 'who are you' looks alright (Paul)! Wouldn't have minded if they were from staff, but there was no-one behind the bar when i called in one lunchtime. I waited for the statutory time, but no sign of any service..!! Perhaps its a 'do-it-yourself' pub..! So i went down the road to the 'Duke of Clarence' and got served there straight away..! The 'Star' had a very strong odour of stale cigarette ash (not everyones cup of tea..)! This pub will definately not be featuring in the book of "Fav Bars" by I.P.Nitely TeeJay - 16 Jan 2007 00:23
