Now a good beer-driven pub with darkish decor but comfortable seating.

the pub garden was just about to undergo a makeover before the couple left as apparently the estate agent who owned the building told them they werent going to renew their lease as they were looking to redevelop it into flats so the couple ended their lease, shame really as they were lovely and did a really nice job with the place and the wife of the so called 'long suffering husband' would have been heavily pregnant at the time 'cricket chris' wrote his review and therefore was most likely a little fed up, they were both lovely people and I hear they have since moved to Australia, good luck to them. Went in the other day to find a bunch of lazy kids running the place now, a guy who worked for the previous couple is still there and I dont remember him being so rude or lazy but he literally ignored me while I waited for him to finish his conversation with a short, fat Bob Hoskins look alike who sounded like he was from Essex somewhere banging on abou the 'wicked drinking session last night' AWESOME, i'll be drinking elsewhere now!

Not sure if these people have been to the same place! But our experience was a little different! Good size pub and to be fair it is a nice pub inside, though the garden leaves something to be desired. Not sure if we were witness to the same couple but she seemed to have an aire of seeming authority about her as she stomped around the place taking more care in abusing what seemed to be a long suffering partner rather than tending to any kind of work, the wife and I felt most sorry for him though. This unfortunatley made us feel most uncomfortable during our short stop as we were intending on sampling the food as we had actually heard good things. Though I must say we couldn't have coped any longer, this also seemed to be the case for the rest of the world as other than us it was completely deserted. This being the only one though as we took a walk into twickenham everywhere else was quite busy! Shame as it seemed to have great potential.

LOVE this place.......excellent refurb, cracking new owners always up for a laugh yet still professional, nice selection of Ales that changes fortnightly, cheap food but still quality!
Some really good bands, not too loud and nicest staff in Twickenham to be fair.........shame not many people have caught onto this pub yet, weeknights are a bit quiet but all things take time to build, drinks are ever so cheap as they're a free hold and not tied to a scumbag brewery...........LIKE THIS PLACE ALOT

This is a great little pub thats just had a refurb and new owners who are quite possibly the nicest, welcoming pair i've ever had the pleasure of meeting, the Ale is delicious as the new owners have a very strict line cleaning rota, so i'm told and the food is even better, it's supposed to be traditional English pub food but as far as i'm concerned it's way above pub standard soggy fish & chips & at a very decent price surprisingly for Twickenham. 5 big screens and a cracking beer garden with outdoor bbq which I can only imagine go down a treat on Rugby days? Still finding their feet in the area but by far one of the better pubs in Twickenham at the moment, a quality 9 out of 10 pub with staff, owners, beer & food to match.......my new local!
