user reviews of the Jolly Farmer Country Inn, Warsash

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Dissapointing range of very ordinary overpriced beer. Very expensive food. Had one pint of London Pride (that I had to ask barmaid to fill to measure) didn't bother with the food. Went to my local for a decent pint at a sensible price.

I have not been to the Jolly Farmer for some time, but a colleague suggested that I should go for a lunchtime meal. When we went in it was a time warp, unbelievable! Like a pub in the 60s the surrounding were genuine, the photos & memorabilia. There are very few inns of this standard, and I think this pub should be listed!

The Jolly Farmer Country Inn has a range of Fuller Real Ale, I saw that HSB was on show, but I declined that brand as it is described as a Hampshire, but made in London, but I tried the other two London Pride & Seafarer, both I enjoyed.

The trading post area, the bar & restaurant were very popular, customers were local and car travelers, they have a lovely garden and a superb display of flowers and recently won a gold medal for Fareham in Bloom.

We ordered a meal from their lunchtime & evening list and I also go for the mixed grill, wow good selection freshly cooked, fill me up, we also had room for a desert, the choice was good, but the desert sheet was not priced, when I got the bill I think they were reasonable.

Well done for the staff, chef also the OGrady family, all very pleasant and will come again.

A good summer pub, kids love the garden but it's a long walk carrying drinks ! Inside is dark, dingy and dirty, went there for breakfast, no menu dirt cutley on the table, even one of the cups we were given had lipstick on it, service poor, not impressed.

Originally farm cottages The Jolly Farmer became a pub in 1835 and retains a good country atmosphere. Martin and Cilla O'Grady have been operating the Jolly Farmer since 1983. This cosy pub is close to the Hamble River and you won't miss it thanks to the multi-coloured classic car lined up outside. The bars are furnished in a rustic style with farming equipment on the walls and ceilings. There's also a patio, large beer garden and a purpose-built children's play area. Catch of the day seafood specials appear on the chalkboard, backed up with prime grills, light bites and house specialities such as chicken and seafood paella, confit of duck or chicken stroganoff. Accommodation. Families and Dogs are welcome here. Good pint of 'Pride'. The pub has its own golf society and cricket team. What's not to like and My Mum & Dad give it their seal of approval.
