On a Sunday walk through the Kent countryside I popped into the G&D and liking the look of the lunches I ordered a pork roast to go alongside my pint of Harveys. I found the staff in here all very efficient and friendly, the Harveys was spot on (so I had a second of course) and the roast was excellent (a cracking piece of crackling on top!). Not cheap, but fairly standard pricing these days of £15 for the roast, but the quality was obvious. The location, across from the village church, makes the outside seating very picturesque. All in all a very good experience indeed.

Been here once for a Sunday lunch. Its expensive - about £16. For a very small lunch. We had to wait an hour between starters and main courses - I gave the staff 5 minutes to get our mains before we left which got it sorted. Complaints aside, seems expensive for what you get - will not come back. Looks pretty - but average in every other respect. Go to The Hare in Langton Green 5 minutes up the road.

Very expensive gastro-pub. E.g. Sausages & mash £10.50, Sunday roast £16.50, then they add 12.5% "discretionary" tip on when you go to pay (You can ask them to remove it again). Food & beer was very good however, Larkins, Harveys & Brakespear on, all in good condition.

Very attractive interior and exterior. Visit slightly marred by the 10 minute wait to buy 2 pints

Really a restaurant (at the weekends) in a very attractive pub building. We come here for Sunday lunches when we deserve a treat.

It's expensive - even by gastro standardfs - but the quality is actually excellent.

Ale good too.
