On our recent visit, the ladies toilets stunk to high heaven and one of the toilets (and part of the floor) was splattered with faeces containing a large amount of sweet corn. The toilet itself appeared to have been blocked by what looked like a Bernard Matthews ‘Golden Drummer’. Apparently the gents was spotless though! PissFlap - 15 Apr 2012 23:11
I can't see how this pub gets such a low average rating. I agree that it's not a 'drinkers' pub or a ' community' pub but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Most pubs that fit into those boxes are cliquey, unfriendly, shit tips. At least the Ginger Pig is clean, looked after, serves some good spirits that you don't see in any old boozer and the staff seem friendly and literate. They do some good cocktails and there's a decent wine list and the lager doesn't taste like someone's farted into it before selling it to you. It's more a pub for couples, young professionals and quiet types rather than for cocaine addicted, debt ridden plasterers and aggressive roofer types with their children's names tattooed all over their arms. montyperera - 12 Jan 2012 12:11
We went there yesterday for lunch before we set off for the Elton John Concert. We must have had our invisible heads on as it took ages to attract someone's attention. First of all the menu was limited. I ordered the Duck Pate to start as I don't like fish and the thought of eating raw steak (Steak Tartare) makes me feel quite ill. Sadly they'd sold out. So, no starter for me. I then had breast of corn fed chicken (must have been a very small chicken) on a bed of mash and crushed peas. Unfortunately that was no better and much smaller than I could have cooked at home. We should have known better really, we've eaten at the Ginger Fox at Albourne and were equally disappointed. brightonboy3449 - 27 Jun 2011 06:59
