Pleasant county pub - seemingly in the middle of nowhere. I was first in at lunchtime and a bit sceptical as to how the first London Pride of the day would be.

It was perfect.

Nice outdoor area. Traditional pub interior setup for dining.

This is a pub which me and my family have been going to for years as we love the food and it is reasonably priced.

Tonight me and my fiancé arrived with our 5 month old baby who was at the time fast asleep in his car seat. As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by a very rude lady telling us we had to leave as they don't allow children under 10 years of age. I'd understand if our baby was old enough to run around and cause mischief or if the pub was a local 'boozer' but this is a pub/restaurant which I used to think welcomed families.

We will not be going back here as we were spoken to so rudely in front of the whole pub who by this time were all staring at us as we were told to leave. We have never been so embarrassed.

It is such a shame as the food is actually really lovely, they have let themselves down.

Extremely dissatisfied customers :(

Clean and tidy little pub with very comely barmaid and nice garden. Beer was well kept but a rather boring selection (Young's Bitter, London Pride and Adnam's Broadside - I think it was Broadside).
Food was wholesome and not overpriced for the area. Gave it 7, would have been 8 with more interesting ales.

An exceptionally clean pub. I always look for details like the top of sauce bottles and these were spotless. An enjoyable mixed grill at a reasonable price. Genuinely friendly staff. Large garden with a real sense of being high up in the Chiltern Hills. Selection of beer but I was on cola so cannot comment.

Beers well kept but "nationals" rather than local, shame as its apparently a freehouse but will return.
