| This pub so lacks atmosphere, a bit of music wouldn't go a miss....We don't mean loud rock music blaring so you have to shout to make yourself heard but a bit of background music would make such a difference to this otherwise nice pub....Walking into a silent pub just kills it....Come on Rose and Crown you are still a pub at the end of the day...... | Not a bad looking little pub, tucked away opposite the church. Nice interior, clean and well kept. Beer choice a bit limited when I was in, but I saw several Tring Brewery casks outside. The pint of Butcombe I had was in good nick and very drinkable. Nice paved beer garden hidden away at the back, with cafe style furniture. Shame about the whopping great kitchen extract flue which discharges into the area. Worth a visit if you're in Ivinghoe. davvac - 29 Aug 2011 11:46 |
| Tuesday 5th July was a fantastic night at the Rose and Crown Ivinghoe. The pub was completely packed, and our lovely, understanding customers did not mind a 2 or 3 minute wait before enjoying a great pint! The occasion was a charity quiz to support local man Roger Moorhouse who is swimming the English Channel to raise money for the Aspire Charity (http://www.aspire.org.uk). The evening raised nearly £600 for this worthwhile organisation; an outstanding result and a credit to the Ivinghoe/Pitstone and wider community for getting in behind Roger and supporting him in his swim. The Rose and Crown Ivinghoe were very pleased to lend our support by donating the evening meal free of charge to the many quiz participants. | Well what's happening here? Heard from some guys I met in The Stag, yesterday, that Tuesday night was a fiasco. Only that numpty landlord serving the masses and there was a quiz on apparently.
