Pleasant enough place with a couple good ales. My wife particularly liked the atmosphere--well-lighted and family-oriented. A couple of guys that appeared to be American bikers came in for dinner and drank pints of milk. Apparently, nobody has ever ordered a glass of milk here, as the bartender told the guys--after a moment of quick figuring--that he'd charge them the price of a coffee! Funny! urf - 17 Jul 2007 12:28

A nice-looking pub, with a separate, lounge-y upstairs bar to boot. Not a huge selection of beers, and the staff was pleasant enough but not very efficient. My biggest complaint with this place is the obnoxious way they conduct drinking-up time. They herd drinkers from one room to another, snatching notquite-finished drinks off of tables and loudly insisting that everyone get out as soon as 11 rolls around, without any drinking-up time being allowed at all. I took a friend there, and was embarrassed by the rude way in which we were shooed out right after I'd finished explaining the concept of "drinking-up time" to him. They're the closest pub to where I'm living now, but I don't think I'll be in a hurry to give them any more of my money. Hodsthorn - 23 Jan 2006 19:28
One of the better pubs in Bayswater. Downstairs is traditional with a decent selection on tap. Good live music and a few tables outside for some decent people-watching. Upstairs is a cool modern lounge with nice leather seats. If you're lucky enough, you can sit outside on the balcony. skorch - 18 Oct 2005 17:36
