Had an awful experience at The Wheatsheaf whilst trying to have a quiet bank holiday lunch with my family. We were told food would be twently minutes, and it turned up over 50 minutes later, by which time it was too late to eat, as I had promised a lift to my brother. Upon explaining this to the manager, wholey expecting him to apolgise and refund us - I was called a liar, and told that I had only been waiting for 30 minutes! He point blank refused to give my family and I a refund, despite the fact that the bar maid that served me asked me if I would like to pay before eating or afterwards! When I explained to the manager that I was offered the choice of paying after the meal if I had chosen, he again stated that this was not true, and refused to refund our money!!! Obviously the customer is not always right, and is in fact a liar according to this shoddy establishment. Be warned, DO NOT DINE HERE!

arrived 2pm sunday 01/08/2010 no one serving behind the bar, had to wait 5 mins. ordered 3 roast lunches, no starters ,no sweets. service was terrible , place was busy but not over busy , staff polite and pleasant, .had to wait over 40 minutes for our meal. not good enough . food quite nice and fresh. we will not use this pub again even if it was the last one open for miles.
