user reviews of Ye Olde Dog and Badger, Medmenham

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Reopened now, and much fawning over patrons as to whether they are eating or not. Décor is very much Banksyeque and there are more gins and whiskies than you can shake a stick at. Not my cup of tea, but a beer from a local stable (Malt the Brewery) was good to see, and having been closed for an age one hopes they can tap into the well-moneyed in this drive-through between Marlow and Henley.

The Dog and Badger is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment and will re-open later this summer. The original building has been restored to retain its old charm and a new oak framed space has been added which will house the bar and a state of the art open kitchen. The restaurant will offer an a la carte menu at lunchtime and in the evening plus bar snacks will be available all day long. The pub will open at 8am for breakfast and will remain open all day.
The bar will serve real ale including rebellion, a range of draught ciders, craft beers, cider and Guinness. The wine list will feature over 400 wines with a selection of 60 still, sparkling and fortified wines by the glass . In addition there will be an extensive range of spirit particularly gins and whiskeys.
A suite of 3 private rooms is available for meetings or dining and can accommodate 14 people on one table.
The adjacent quintessentially cottage, Gillmans, will open later in the autumn with 6 ensuite luxury bedrooms.

Closed for "extensive refurbishment" according to its website until Spring 2015- but I do now wonder if it will reopen. Does anyone have any specific news on this?

Right on main road - more of a restaurant than a pub really had an average pint of IPA (I think) - wouldnt seek it out unless eating
