Apparently Tesco have bought the site and this pub is soon to be a goner. No real loss judging by their (lack of) real ale selection.

good food and great bar staff, a good selection of beers and ales also live music on friday nights. what else would you want?

I'll admit a was a little dubious about this pub after such a mixed bag of reviews but my friend convinced me it was worth a visit last weekend. I was most pleasantly surprised! Pub looks great, and the patio garden is gorgeous - will definitely be taking advantage of that in summer. No sawdust in sight! Received a very warm welcome from staff, despite being very much a non regular, and the food was delicious, and reasonably priced. Perfect place to hole up on a cold afternoon. Don't live in the area but will be making an effort to visit more often.

Following my earlier review and the arrival of new management things sadly haven't improved. Food takes an age to arrive and arrives cold and the staff in general are bordering on open hostility to non-regulars. Needless to say we won't be returning.

I've been drinking in this pub for a number of years, and can now say the pub has completely changed around since being under new management since the end of October. The pub once again has a friendly atmosphere for regulars and new customers alike, and the staff will go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience. There is more of a buzz about the place thanks to bringing back in live sports and the introduction of live music on Friday nights. With Robyn & Shane bringing in their own chef, the food has massively improved due to proper home cooked food. Having just had our Christmas meal/party here, i can say that the food was excellent and would recommend the pub to anyone who wants to eat here or just go for a drink. A really good pub!
