Made a point of calling into the Star Inn as I heard it had been revamped. First impression was good. Music playing but not too loud, decor was great, some nice touches with a selection of papers and books. Fair selection of lagers and beers and according to the Landlady Helen, regular guest ales too as it is a freehouse. Stayed for a steak from the new pub menu as food is served every evening now. Good honest food at a decent price. I was very impressed! Would definitely visit again.

The pub was taken over by Ross and Sian in August 2009 and they are doing a fantastic job, many improvements including a childs play area out in the very nice gardens. They have fully got behind the village and help out where ever they can. Good choice of well kept real ales ( try the tribute its fantastic ) and now the winter is here they have the place lovley and warm with a wood burner in the bar. A real pub not a country pub turned into a restraunt which makes a change, A warm welcome and good beer what more can you ask for !!1
also they are thinking of opening the letting rooms back up.
Lets hope they stay for a long time to come

This pub doen't seem to be open midweek lunchtime. It's a neat enough spot, with no Gastro pretensions. Good sized garden. There's nothing wrong with it, tho unless I was desperate I'd probaly go to the Neeld in Grittleton or the Vine Tree at Norton.
